CMS Jam Kickoff!
Written by webchicklet on March 24, 2008 – 11:32 am -Welcome to the official kickoff post of CMS Jam! So, what is CMS Jam all about? CMS is the acronym for Content Management Systems, and that’s what this blog is all about…managing your site content.
There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of content management systems on the market, and I certainly don’t intend to touch on all of them. Some are extremely high-end (or simply high-priced), and are usually aimed at the large enterprise market. You probably won’t read much about those products here. This blog is aimed at a completely different segment of the web population. I’m here to help you determine which CMS is best for your small-to-medium web site.
- Are you a one-person web developer?
- Do you want a web site, but don’t have a lot of geeky, programmer-type employees?
- Do you currently have a web site that is hard to manage, and you would like to be able to easily make content changes?
If so, this blog is for you. I’ll be covering CMS packages that are right for you. Whether it’s hot-off-the-press news, reviews, or themes and plugins, I plan to bring content management system information to you in a format that is clear, concise, and easy to understand. This won’t be some tired, old, enterprise-level jargon-filled whitepaper that puts you to sleep. What it will be is straight-to-the point information that you need to manage your site content. Simple as that.
